Bought these for my 11 year old son and he loves them. The only downside, and this probably only applies to him as he is smaller for his age, is that the shaft of the boot is quite large in the foot area. If your child has fat feet or "full" feet, they will be fine. The problem for him is that they only close the velcro on the side to close the trunk. There is no way to tighten the boot to make it fit snugly on your feet. Another disadvantage is that these are not very tall boots. It won't be good if you don't have longer winter pants to keep the snow out of the trunk. Besides that, he loves her. However happy he is with the pulling claw on them, I'm a little concerned he'll forget it's down and then go through our hardwoods and blow big holes in them. The claw is very strong and the teeth are quite sharp.
