Was a bit nervous about buying these based on other reviews posted here but was pleasantly surprised so wanted to share my experience with any pros and cons. Here: PROS1. Amazing price. Other goals cost three times more.2. Wider than most other gates. Other gates are typically up to 60 inches wide.3. Beautiful appearance4. Smooth work. Yes, they can be closed with one hand. Watch a YouTube video to make sure you're doing it right. It's like a seat belt, if you stop in the middle of an operation, it locks you up so you have to start over. 5. Like all gates they need to be installed correctly to work properly The spacers provided were not enough. We went to Home Depot, bought rectangular pieces of wood the thickness of our base, attached them to the wall where the top connection points of the gate components are and painted them to match the walls and viola, the gate looks great and works perfectly there installed at right angles. reviewed and approved by this mother. We have a very active baby. It passed their test.MINUS1. Hardware is really not very good. Screw heads fall off. Buy your own screws (#8 size x baseboard thickness + wall material) and you're good to go.
