I used to use FM transmitters with my old MP3 player and now my iPhone to stream music through my old car stereos and they work great unless you drive into one City where there are so many radio stations that you may not find an empty channel. I chose not to replace my old car radio because it was easy to find and has a decent sound. It has no extra port or USB port. I've used a cassette adapter before, but it made a lot of noise when spinning. Yes, it's the old year 2002 to be exact. Since we only use this car around town I have no problem finding empty FM channels. I love that I can charge my phone while listening to music (using a separate USB charging cable). I thought it would be great to use a microSD slot and put music in it, but it's inflexible. Songs should play in alphabetical order and when set, they will play first, requiring you to force switch to the paired Bluetooth device. It usually connects to my iPhone pretty quickly. He says this "WAITING FOR PAIRING" and then after a few seconds "PAIRING" in a deep synthetic male voice. Sometimes pairing can take up to 30 seconds. I don't know why, but in most cases it takes less than 5 seconds. I like that there is a separate volume control. I usually hold it up and lower the stereo level to the volume I want. So if you have an old car stereo that you can't easily connect to your iPhone or Android, this works pretty well. Also, it sits firmly in the cigarette lighter plug and the grip is fairly stiff but light enough to flex the display for comfortable viewing. I also bought iOttie Easy One Touch 4 Dashboard and Windshield Phone Holder for iPhone X 8 Plus 7 6s SE Samsung Galaxy S9 S8 Edge S7 S6 Note 8 and other smartphones [$10 Revain credit] so I can mount my iPhone and see it Display mostly when I use it for navigation.
