It takes a bit to hold it in place but is surprisingly strong

I had my doubts these foam ladders were worth it but I'm impressed with their durability. The only problem is that the little dog is a little afraid of them because they stagger when he jumps from the top ladder to the bed. I need to find a way to secure it or make it more stable. Otherwise I need this to help a small dog get down and lay on the bed.
