I bought this to use with my MacBook Air with Catalina 10.15.4. The product description says it's compatible with Mac, but it turns out that it's only compatible with OLD versions of Mac, obviously up to version 9.0. The cable is marked "for Mac" but the software that comes with it is Windows. It took hours of software searching to figure out that the problem was actually with the device itself. I finally got VLC to recognize it, but only for video. Current versions of Mac OS record video but no sound. So it's useless. Only buy it if you have an older Mac and haven't updated your operating system. i will return it
