The hexagonal shaft of the Torx drive is ground to a round shaft. The problem is that the tool is too short. A hexagonal shaft, the outer diameter of which is larger than the mounting screw recessed through hole, extends from below the mounting screw through hole. (You can't reach the screw head because the tool hits the split hole.) A five minute field test would show this. This works for low mounts.
