Can oil attack plastic?

From the first use, the plastic in the cup seems to melt with each use. It's getting rougher and cloudier; not soiled, but as eaten. This is not a mild detergent or soft cloth that I use to wash. It cannot be used with citrus oils, but is it specifically for squeezing and grating citrus fruits?
