The size of this pump struck me for the first time. The size of a small potato, it is beautiful and compact. Despite its small size, it seems to have enough power. I ordered this to oxygenate water in a 5 gallon bucket for a hydroponic grow system and it created lots of tiny bubbles with the included Aeroston. While the Airstone works well, I wish it was a little bigger. The pump was a bit noisy without the air hose connected, but when I connected the air hose the pump noise was greatly reduced. I would describe this pump as relatively quiet compared to others I've used. It has small soft rubber feet on the bottom that prevent a lot of vibration noise when sitting on a hard surface. One point of criticism is that the air hose was rolled up in the package in such a way that it had some kinks after it was extended. . Airflow doesn't seem to be compromised, but it doesn't look as nice as we'd like. The tube is also translucent and can cause aloe growth as the light can pass through it. Overall I am happy with the product and it will work very well for the one bucket system I use. would recommend.
