Ideal for outdoors! As an open-air landscape painter, I only use Frederix panels. In my opinion the highest quality canvas panel. If you can't afford canvas panels, this is a great option. The canvas is well woven, allowing for smooth brushstrokes but has just enough jags to really set the paint in place. The flat surface of the panels allows the artist to not worry about light filtering through the canvas when working outdoors and a firmer surface that can be cut and worked without the "cracking" of traditional canvas . I pop two or three of these in my panel holder along with my purse and am ready for the day (it's definitely easier to carry panels in a panel holder than a wet traditional canvas bumping into things!). You get what you pay for and Frederix is quality. It matters when you have a well-made instrument.
