Finniki and Machine Gunner, however, master their task.

This is the cheapest quick release adapter plate I could find that works with my Ronin S Plate To quickly transfer the gimbal to the slider, this is probably the cheapest option. I originally thought about returning this because it doesn't work with my Ronin S plate (Manfrotto type) which is permanently installed on my BMPCC4K cage, but I found that one of the metal pins on the rail could unscrew . Which finally allowed my board to get in without getting stuck. (I'm not sure what this pin is for as it doesn't come with instructions). Since it works and has served its purpose, I don't have to worry about returning it. The rest of this review focuses on build and quality: it's a metal plate and adapter (cast metal I guess) with grippy rubber, and that's it compared to other overpriced Manfrotto plates that cost a lot more, it is simply more economical. It's really heavy, but if what you mount it on can support the weight, it doesn't matter. If I had had $40 more I would have bought a different QR plate and adapter combo but for less than $20 it did the job even though I had to modify it a bit. The paint on it is also somewhat textured, which feels very odd. I have a feeling it will peel off over time, but since I'll just leave it on my rig, I doubt I'll end up damaging it too much. Quality is fair for what you are buying but not great. The machining could have been better and it would have been nice if they anodized it (assuming it's aluminium) rather than painting it black.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Not the best
