Review on ๐Ÿ“ถ Boost Signal Strength with Generic High Gain Panel Electronic Antenna (5.8Ghz 14dBi) by Doreen Johnson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great upgrade for the price. The FPV patch antenna probably doesn't have as much gain as advertised.

To 'upgrade' the antennas in the standard Hubsan H501S transmitter. The connecting wires are the same size and quality as those supplied with the transmitter, the 2.4GHz duck antenna is the standard 3dB universal antenna. Opening the patch antenna reveals an etched circuit board to which the antenna wire is soldered directly and the sheathing is attached around it with small pins. I have since upgraded my quad to circular polarized antennas and now use a helical antenna on the transmitter. The range and quality is much better than this patch! BUT: I have repurposed these antennas for indoor flying on my H107D, as it still uses a linear whip antenna for FPV there is definitely a quality difference to the standard biquad antenna. This patch picks up the signal better than the stock antenna, even from behind, which makes me think that while this antenna is an improvement over the stock antenna, it's not as high as advertised, as 14dBi means most of the signal is directed forward. which I found wrong after using this for indoor FPV flying. However, I would still recommend this as an inexpensive upgrade as I've found it to give the best signal by any measure.
