Durable and great!

This is a beautifully designed and well-made piece of furniture that will comfortably accommodate at least two adult cats. Each element is made of durable material and solidly configured. Assembly was easy, just a few screws going into pre-drilled holes in threaded metal (not just wood) shafts. Note that the screws are two almost indistinguishable different sizes. The only issue I had was with a rod whose threads, upon close inspection with a flashlight, were so deformed that they could only accommodate the bolt to about 60% of its depth. Luckily, however, this bed serves as a balcony on a small doghouse that hugs our house on our large covered porch and just happens to be on the corner side so you never see it. It's too early to tell how well the padding will hold up to cat claws, but so far so good. The foam inside is fairly firm and the fabric is removable with a zipper at the bottom that only extends about a third of a front-to-back edge. Haven't used the zip yet so I don't know if it will be easy to put the foam back in place compared to a zip that runs at least the length of the pillow on the side, but time will tell. one. ATTENTION, by the way, when opening the box, that the pillow sits directly on the cardboard at both ends, so DO NOT OPEN at both ends. I didn't see any warnings on the box and just didn't think so, so I pulled out my serrated pocket knife and was horrified to realize I'd completely cut through the thick plastic wrap AND made a crease in the padding! As a testament to the fabric's durability, it immediately straightened out. No cuts. All in all, it's expensive, but the quality is superior to most pet beds, and it's designed for outdoor use, which is harder to find. This is great thing!
