Review on ๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ Enhance Your Framing Skills with the Logan Pro F400 1 Fitting Tool by Amy Mcleod

Revainrating 3 out of 5

For years I've used glazing points (the kind with little 'wings' at right angles that make insertion easier) and rigid polyurethane

I've been making frames for over 40 years a lot of experience with different types, to hold the material(s) of the substrate. For years I've used icing sticks (with little right-angled "wings" to make them easier to insert) and a hard trowel. This way you have a lot of control. Hammering these points so that the fenders are almost flush with the inside of the frame will give you a permanent penetration and if you need to remove one they are very easy to remove with the same spatula. "Tool" that gave me the results I wanted, and this one is no exception. The quality is borderline but to be honest the tool is not that expensive. It does the job, but suffers from several problems: 1) You have little control over how deep the "point" is in the tool (I think it's unnecessarily deep). You can fix things in many ways, but the design just isn't great. 2) You can't really get the tip parallel to the backing material because it's being driven into the frame material; As a result, you tend to pinch the edge of the backing material. I'm not sure if this is a serious problem, but it worries me. 3) I'm not sure if the tool will work with hard carcass material. So far I've used it on several pine frames. Non-trivial bending and twisting of the tool occurred as the tip was driven in. I made sure to use a lot of compressive force. Finally. I'm going back to my old, completely manual method.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • thin

Maybe works with simple frames where inner and outer edges of the wood are parallel

It helps you shove tabs into a frame.
