Review on SEEKONE 100W Plastic Welder Kit: Hot Stapler Gun For Bumper, Kayak & Plastic Product Repairs by Leandro Gray

My husband always wanted one of these but could never quite make up his mind to get one, so we have repaired our plastic pools, tools and other things by melting slivers of plastic into the tears with a heat gun. It works (sort of) but is labor intensive and not very pretty to look at. It also tends to melt through some other places where there was previously no hole!Then we got this . what a game changer! We now wonder why we waited so long to get one.The gun is very heavy-duty and well made and the accessories (especially the cut off pliers) are very handy. There are quite a few staples of assorted varieties in this kit as well, that I'm sure will last awhile given that we don't have a ton of stuff to mend all the time.As a test (because we needed to repair it anyway) my husband sealed a crack in our big plastic wheelbarrow. The plastic on that thing is very thick and the crack was about 4" long so it was a good test. He said the welder heated quickly and maintained its heat through 8 staples across the crack without overheating and shutting off (which it is supposed to do if it gets too hot, as a safety precaution). Then he used the smoothing tool--which also worked great--to "iron out" the rough patches from the weld. The cut-off pliers work well to cut away any remnants of staple that protrude, although they don't quite cut flush and you will need to use a rotary tool or file to get them down flush so they don't accidentally cut someone or some thing. When he was finished with the job he had me come see if I could find the spot he fixed and I actually couldn't see it until he pointed it out. He is thrilled with his new "toy" and says he thinks this is absolutely an essential tool on the homestead. I suspect he is now going to go around looking for stuff to fix.Anyway, this is a great plastic welder kit that I would highly recommend--for the price it is definitely a bargain!
