So does what it should. It's plastic. The filter is fine. He moves water. However, I think a micro-sponge would work better. The light is about as bright as a flashlight at a dollar store, so I use a table lamp I had as a spare. Mine cracked but Revane fixed it. Remember this item is SMALL. You do not hide this fact. They give you dimensions and volume, but some people may see the wrong fish picture and get misled. I bought mine because I needed to relocate dwarf shrimp. It's honestly too small for a shrimp colony, but I needed a quick and cheap option, and it would have worked temporarily if it hadn't arrived broken. I ended up buying 5 gallons from a local pet store because I couldn't use it when it originally arrived (again because it had cracks) and I now use it as a place to overdose and quarantine new plants before I put them in my tanks. Works fine for that. It can also be used as an incubator for roasts. I really can't recommend this even for nanofish. It would be a terrible quality of life and keeping your parameters under control would be a nightmare. Please do not buy more than a few micro crabs if you intend to use it as a primary residence. But for a Nano, it would make an excellent hospital tank. The cure for this thing costs a penny. TL; DR: Not a very good aquarium given its size, but it fits the description so I don't think it's fair to give it a bad rating. Best used as a brood incubator, plant incubator (although large stemmed plants are not suitable) or nano-hospital.
