Review on Geekworm Raspberry Pi 4 Case by Sarah Dionne

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works very well but could be improved!

These radiators get the job done, but it can be LOTS of improvement. The heatsink is designed with 1/16 inch clearance between CPU, memory and NIC chipset. This gap should be filled with the supplied radiator gasket, but this is NOT optimal! I understand that it's extremely difficult to cut every heatsink to perfectly fit every single Pi, but the main improvement would be to get the metal in contact with the chips. This can be achieved by using springs to press the heatsink against the processor and padding the memory and network card chip in case of a gap. I now have 4 of these radiators and I have archived each one. to get a direct contact to the CPU, and with a fan I get the temperature down to 28-30°C, without fan they run 35-45°C, under load with fan I see 35°C, below that long time without fan loading . Temporarily you can see up to approx. 60°C and that only because the heat sink is saturated with heat and cannot dissipate it quickly enough. Normal operation without a fan is around 40-45C. I like the heatsink and there is nothing quite like it to my knowledge, but there is room for improvement. There should be improvements. Direct contact with the processor. A way to mount the pi hat on a heatsink with an extra extension for those with a fan.
