I have tried several of these spools. They all look cheap and break easily. This one is economical, I'll admit, but it holds up well. What I like most about this reel is that it has 4 built in outlets so you just need to wrap the cord (plug end) to the nearest outlet and then use the power strip with multiple items without the need. for an additional power supply. One thing I wish they had built into these reels is a locking feature to prevent the reel from spinning after it has been spun. That way you won't go back and find your extension cord unwound when you stored it and accidentally dropped it.
