inexpensive cord spool if you already have an extension

I have tried several of these spools. They all look cheap and break easily. This one is economical, I'll admit, but it holds up well. What I like most about this reel is that it has 4 built in outlets so you just need to wrap the cord (plug end) to the nearest outlet and then use the power strip with multiple items without the need. for an additional power supply. One thing I wish they had built into these reels is a locking feature to prevent the reel from spinning after it has been spun. That

It seems normal but w Steel Shot was filled in

Everything is plastic (except the "frame") but it seems to be assembled quite well. It's on the small side, so for those who want to know how long the cable will last, it entirely depends on the gauge (thickness) of the cable. I have a 50 foot 12/3 cable and this will make the most of the capacity. The main reason for the lower rating is that when unpacked it sounded like it was filled with sand and seeping into small particles. I removed the 3 screws holding the 4 outlet central block and the…

Not bad. on reels for cord

I really like the built in power block. Without a socket block, the entire cable would have to be unwound before use. At the same time, I only spin what I need. On the other hand, I have to fully unwind it to use it with things like a corded trimmer. A NOTICE. Because this device does not have overheat protection, you MUST fully unwind it when using it with devices that draw large amounts of current. I was able to get it at a bargain price and no one else in the price range had a curfew so it…

PLEASE read negative reviews.

1. This product isn't advertised for indoor use only - you've got my $23 and I've got a useless reel of cord. In fact, the display shows the wheel *on the grass*.2. The block with four outputs *NOT* stops when the idler wheel turns. This means it is nothing more than an extension cord adapter; possibly worse as you can't connect the power to the coil, connect the device and then plug/unplug the cable.3. It doesn't feel cheap, as others have complained, and the swivel mechanism is smooth and…

Used for 50 feet of small diameter soft plastic tubing for my mom's oxygen unit. Twisting and squeezing the hand wrap was difficult, especially with a family member who is not very skilled. I ordered two models, this expensive one (for me) and a much cheaper orange plastic model with a "center knob" built into the inside of the reel with no frame or base. It was awkward to hold and difficult to coordinate. It was expensive at $22.94 (for my use as a reel) but well worth it. Sorry I can't…

Well done. A big flaw.

I love how convenient this product is, with sockets on the side and a switch to connect and disconnect the power. For safety reasons, always turn off the toggle switch when not in use. The big disadvantage is that there is little space between the bottom of the coil and the base. I'm a size 9 female and can't get a good grip on the base to hold it in my shoes while winding the cord. I attribute this to the narrow base that doesn't protrude far enough for easy access. It's frustrating. A…

Good for tool use and short jobs

I have several versions of this. I needed this to hold a 50 foot 10 gauge cable. It barely fits with the cord touching the handle when fully coiled. The cable is fully usable. Of the few I have, I like that I can take a standard cord and store or unroll as much as I need. It's worth noting that a longer amperage (like the one I use) should fully unwind the cable as it heats up when twisted. For simple saws or other quick tasks, this works great. The 4 sockets seem good but seem a little cheaper
