I love how convenient this product is, with sockets on the side and a switch to connect and disconnect the power. For safety reasons, always turn off the toggle switch when not in use. The big disadvantage is that there is little space between the bottom of the coil and the base. I'm a size 9 female and can't get a good grip on the base to hold it in my shoes while winding the cord. I attribute this to the narrow base that doesn't protrude far enough for easy access. It's frustrating. A workaround is to keep the base barefoot, but who wants to do that? This is impractical, but solves the problem. This item is rarely used because I often only need it when vacuuming my car. For the price, this product is sufficient. However, for frequent use, a person should find a broader basis for simple use. The handle is easier to use and the winding mechanism is quieter than a traditional plastic block, which I like. I agree with the reviewers who say this product is a good buy if you already have a cord and just need a spool for it.
