Review on Canon EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM UD Lens: High-Quality Standard Zoom for Canon DSLR Cameras by Swami Swami ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I would definitely recommend the purchase, I don't think there is anything wrong with it.

For reporting, USM and stub work at the level of the most nimble L-ki. I use it on the 7D with a battery pack, which allows me to scribble like a machine gun on the series. The drawing is flat, plastic (what else do you want from autofocus). Blend should be taken only Japanese with velvet. The sharpness is decent, there are no vignettes and excess soap. At focal 15 there is a small barrel, but in lightroom it is easy to correct. Many people write about being overweight - you haven't shot Carl Zeizz Sonnar 2.8/180mm handheld, which weighs 1.5 kg, and you are still indignant about this. If you want to shoot portraits and demand a super drawing, these are already old German manual fixes by Carl Zeiss and Meyer Optic Gorliz.

Pros
  • Very fast and decent lens.
Cons
  • Unfortunately, it is not dust and moisture protected and can only be used on crops.
