Review on Nikon D3100 DSLR Camera Body (Kit Box) - No Lens Included, International Version with No Warranty by Vanchay Chavdon ᠌

A really necessary purchase, I'm glad I found this product.

When I first saw it for sale, I had to have it. I recently drowned it, and the camera has been nothing but happy with it. used it frequently; it's lightweight and compact plastic construction makes it comfortable to wear (relative to other cameras). That impressed me that I was able to figure it out without any guidance. In the realm of entry-level DSLRs, it holds its own. Cool as it may be, the ability to interpret images internally serves no practical purpose (IMHO). Dots started showing up in the viewfinders after a few months; they turned out to be dust (I admit I didn't keep track), but they didn't have any effect on the photos. It's only when you get into optics that the lack of a screwdriver becomes a problem; autofocus requires motorized optics, which are more expensive. Regarding the lens in the kit (18-55), it is good for the price, but I would take the version with the 18-105 lens (I have one on my new one), it is much more convenient, because you don't need to constantly change the optics, and thus dust the mine, but if you need a camera for leisurely shooting, this one will do.

Pros
  • Value for money; well-made; comfortable to hold; simple to operate; accurate shooting; light weight.
Cons
  • Despite having enough batteries to power 500–600 photographs for someone who uses their camera rarely, I did not have a spare set of batteries available. Almost immediately, dust begins to accumulate in the mirror tube. No "screwdriver"
