I originally bought this set to trim my hair. Upon arrival I quickly realized that this might only work for the edges of my hair or for someone with very light fades/cuts in their hair who need the cut to be as close to the actual base of your head as possible. I usually use 18mm or slightly larger on my head and they only fit up to 9mm so personally I don't have much room to trim. However, it works on the edges of my hair when I want a cleaner cut (sideburn area, nape of the neck). It cuts well and recharges too, which is a plus if you need to tuck something in your bag and take it for a run. This set is also great if you have a young child who needs a haircut at home and doesn't need a thicker clipper. Before purchasing I would just look at the overall dimensions of the clipper to make sure the part number of the clipper you are using matches the one on this box.
