Don't worry if you open the box and see the item is broken and in a sealed plastic bag. Swells after 24 hours of heat. I wrote a bad review at first because I didn't read all the reviews about it. My dog loves it even though it's a few inches shorter than the description says. At first she was afraid of it, but after being forced to use it or not to lie on the bed, she got used to it within a few days. I'm not sure if it's dark brown and she couldn't see it as well as beige since she's almost 14.
