They are very nicely packaged and very beautiful. I can't comment on how well they write on paper because it's a Christmas present. I have a budding artist granddaughter and I try to encourage her to continue making art at all stages. They come with a set of brushes and a watercolor notebook. I like that they take up little storage space as we quickly run out of space on their desktop. I am sure she will also enjoy the unique way they are presented. Something different than usual. I thought the price was good. Although I don't know much about how much good watercolors should cost. I still draw stick figures at my age.
