I am 63 years old and do CrossFit - I have just started walking/jogging and ended up with severe pain in my Achilles tendon - due to pain in my heel it was difficult to walk . I went to the gym and after a modified workout I was crippled for 2 days. I've tried compression stockings, rubbed, stretched - nothing made it easier. The day this aircast arrived I was in terrible shape. I put it on and initially didn't find it comfortable - the inside where the air pocket inflates rubbed against the skin. Luckily the sock was elastic enough for me to put the sock on first and then the cast. The relief from walking was almost instant! I kept it day and night. I went back to the gym today and was able to complete the entire workout - I came home expecting my heel to hurt - but it hurt a little - not at all like it used to. Today I am totally relieved. It's thin enough that I can wear my regular training shoes without discomfort. I think I'll buy another one for the other leg to avoid injury. This device will help you adjust your gait and the pressure you put on your feet so I think it would be a great preventive device. I don't think I'll ever be able to walk or run long without him!
