I saw the reviews about bugs after ordering and freaked out. Upon arrival, I took the headboard to the backyard and inspected for signs of bed bugs or bed bug eggs. None were found. I even went so far as to cut open the back to check the internal cracks for eggs (bed bugs tend to lay their eggs in tight corners) and didn't see anything there either. I also saw another review on tufted button bugs, I've checked a few of these and still no signs. This item is new material and I had a ship date from China of 20/06/2019 on the back. Delivered and installed on 09/23/19. Update: now 10/04/19. So far no signs of bed bugs. I checked the frame, my bed and mattress, and my back and arms (usually where the bugs bite) every night and morning and found nothing. I will post another update within a month. 10/31/2019 - no bed bugs. 11/08/2019 - still no bed bugs. At this point bed bugs were a problem before this person bought that headboard and nested in there because bed bugs do. 12/2020 - still no bed bugs.
