Review on Bathroom Assembly SpotShield Stainless 15840LF SP: Unmatched Durability and Elegance for Your Bath Space by Erik Peterson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I ordered the 3rd

Old faucet was installed, approx 2 years old. The first 3 photos of the old faucet. The other 4 are the new faucet (I used a piece of cardboard to remove the mirror effect). You can't see the height/length difference in the picture on the Amazon site so I wanted to make sure it was visible. I especially like that the base is so "short" that it's about 1/2 the size of the old faucet (or maybe even less). This is not visible in the photo. We have hard water (you can see that around the aerator). As anyone who needs to clean the bathroom sink knows, under the faucet, even under the aerator, it is very difficult. So of course I put it off as long as possible. I try to wipe down the faucet every time I use it (but others in the house don't). However, with the new one, you can see that getting under the faucet to keep it clean is very easy. Another thing I was hoping to achieve was to direct the water jet away from a direct drain. There's something about hearing the water hitting the sewers, which to me is like nails on a blackboard. The new faucet extends past the drain, allowing water to enter the sink and then flow down the drain. The sound is much more pleasant for me. A "side effect" of the new faucet is that it's much more comfortable to lean forward and splash water on your face. I didn't realize how far I had to bend before I got a new one. Much easier on my back! I will say that she needs a little time to get used to it. It's taller so it took a little while not leaning that far over the sink. For most of our lives we have had "old style" faucets. So we have many ingrained habits around them. I found that it only took a couple of weeks to feel the difference and adjust. As soon as this happened I got number 2. After it was installed; My significant other changed her mind and decided she needed a third for the main bath (hooray!). The installation required several different parts. The actual installation took less than an hour (SO - do it yourself. If you find that your back gives you problems when you bend over, I seriously recommend you consider this faucet. Even if you don't have a back problem , I still highly recommend.
