I live in Humboldt County where the humidity is 80% or more almost every day. It didn't change the humidity in my apartment, but it did get rid of all the moisture on the carpet and sheets in my bedroom. This helps keep the humidity in my apartment below 60%, which is what I need. It keeps the humidity below 60% when it is 90% or more outside. It makes me feel better while protecting against mold, mildew and moisture. It doesn't add much to my electricity bill and I have three of them (one in each bedroom and one in the living room). I turn them off between 4pm and 9pm because those are energy-intensive hours. I spend most of the day and night with them. The noise doesn't disturb my sleep, it's like a sound machine. Night light is a great benefit. I recommend.
