Review on Lynca Adjustable Hand Grip Straps - Leather Wrist Hand Strap for DSLR Cameras by Tyler Cooley

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The plastic quick release plate is a big disappointment.

I bought this camera strap to complement my Peak Design strap. I use Nikon D750. I have been using the Peak Design tape for several years and it has worked flawlessly. Pros of Lynca: The strap itself looks good and appears to be made of quality leather. The tailoring is of high quality. The lining ensures good wearing comfort. I feel good in hand when holding the camera. The quick release plate fits my Manfrotto 680B monopod but not Peak Design. I expect the leather strap will stretch a bit over time and need adjusting, which isn't a problem. Cons for Lynca: The main downside, and this is the main downside, is that the panel is plastic, although the box that comes with it says the panel is metal in two places. The plate is NOT metal, but plastic. If I had known that, I would not have bought the Lynca strap. The Peak design plate is aluminum and this should be too much, especially since the manufacturer says twice on the box that the plate is metal. I repeat once again that the panel is plastic, not metal. While I trust the Lynca strap when shooting handheld, I cannot trust the Lynca plate to hold my Nikon securely and not break it when mounted on a monopod. This is the main disadvantage of the Lynca strap. I would have to unscrew the Lynca quick release plate on the bottom of my camera and reattach the Manfrotto aluminum plate every time I shoot which requires a monopod, then unscrew the Manfrotto plate and reattach the Lynca plate for handheld shooting. The fact that the Lynca plate fits Manfrotto was the reason I bought this strap in the first place. I shoot handheld at 24-70 and with a monopod at 70-200. The second downside, a minor one, is that the Lynca's design makes it difficult to loosen or tighten. Occasionally, as the leather stretches with use, it will need to be adjusted, but I don't expect that often. The plastic top is a big disappointment and the reason for that is not a 5 star rating. If Lynca sends me a metal plate that she says should have been there from the start I will upgrade this rating to 5 stars.
