My problem with this new GE filter configuration under the sink isn't water filtration. The fact is that instead of a separate faucet, as in the old model, everything comes out of the main faucet for the sink. That means you have to manually switch to filtered water and then remember to turn off the filtered water. That's rubbing. It's been over 3 months since I bought a new one and other people in the house just remembered that it SOMETIMES needs to be switched back. This is filtered wastewater. Even if I don't run filtered cold water for a second, there still seems to be unfiltered water in the filter line. Even more waste. It is what it is, but I shouldn't like it.
