Review on Brunton F 3051 Non Magnetic Tripod by Eddie Gordon

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Essential but poor quality

This compass is so sensitive that I have to remove my belt buckle, pocket knife and sidearm and place them 10 feet apart to get accurate readings. Therefore, a non-magnetic tripod is required. But its quality is pretty bad, it seems they bought a tripod for $25 and then replaced some steel mounts with brass mounts and resold it for a $100 markup. It's a shame because I love the compass but every time I use it the tripod leaves a bad taste in my mouth as I feel robbed. That makes me feel bad about the brand. Unfortunately.

Pros
  • Use with ball mount
Cons
  • Reliability
