Used the larger set to cover a 6 foot tree. Although after seeing how others used these types of lights, wish I doubled up. The effect looks nicer. Very happy with these, especially for the price. Remote control does need to be pointed right at the outlet, but has several effects. Or you can choose it to just be one color, which there are quite a few to choose from. I had been looking for teal blue Christmas lights for a while and these are perfect, and also allow me to change to other colors when I change my mind. So much better than buying all these different colors in string lights then switching out based on what color I want this year. Definitely recommend
