Review on Enhanced Motorcraft WG311 Washer Pump: Improve Your Vehicle's Cleaning Efficiency by Phil Show

Works fine, good deal!

Seems like a good deal. The auto parts store sold other brands of windshield washer pumps for $17, but I decided to spend the extra money to buy a real Motorcraft. There is a significant trade in counterfeit auto parts but this appears to be a genuine Motorcraft marked "Made in Switzerland" just like the original that was in my truck. To get the old one you need to remove the tank. To do this, you must first remove the battery and then remove the battery stand. You can then get to the three screws holding the tank in place. There are two that connect to the side of the truck and one that goes down. It's the one on the bottom where the battery stand needs to be removed. The instructions recommend using a dry graphite lubricant when installing the filter gasket. I used some silicone grease to help the pump seat the filter into the gasket, but I've seen it with WD40. Instructions are included and you must follow them because if you first put the filter gasket on the pump and then try to install the pump you will not be able to put it in! You will need a 13mm socket, a ratchet and a long extension to pull the bolts out. Took me about an hour from start to finish but I'm moving a bit slow. The bag says "rear window washer pump" but it worked for me.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
