When I bought the original bracket in 2016 it served me well for many years. I loved this mountain. Fits perfectly in the JK dash tray, properly positioning and holding the phone in place. Then the original stand broke. No problem I thought, I've used it a lot and wouldn't mind buying a replacement. Since then I have gone through 4 cradles. Each of them broke down in the same way after limited use; and they no longer hold the phone securely like the original stand; With any impact or vibration, there's a 50/50 chance your phone will be pushed out and thrown between or under the seats. It's great for flying down the freeway at 80 or riding a tough off-road trail. GREAT work, Rugged Ridge isn't. Rugged Ridge has always been a dealer for cheap knick-knacks and junk to attach to your Jeep, but some of their offerings work and work well. Until recently, the mount was one such proposition. Now, if I should be guessing, they've shifted production using inferior materials at an even lower price point, and here's the result.
