I was vacationing in San Diego earlier this year and decided to grab something that would help with both the water temperature and wind chill, and provide some extra protection from the sun. Boots. No sunburn on covered parts including very light stitches on sides, arms and neck. PROBLEMS: I can't confirm the durability of this hybrid shirt as I've only been using it for a few days. But I have to say I had a few nasty falls and slips both in the water and on the wet sand from skimboarding which he handled perfectly. I'll update my review when I've used it more often to report results. After 3 full days of use with repeated full immersion, it still has an almost resinous chemical odor on the base material. It is clear that this is indeed the case. not "wrap" around your body like a feather suit or full body wetsuit that wraps around your legs and groin. Therefore, water tends to seep easily through the bottom of the shirt and down the neck. So getting the fit right is very important because you want it to be as comfortable and snug as possible. I felt they could have used stronger elastic around the neck and waist to make the fit more snug. The neck material was more or less loose around my neck and had no elasticity. Overall, however, I am very happy with my purchase as it honestly exceeded my expectations. Be sure to measure your chest and waist, don't guess the size.
