I bought these after reading reviews from women that the shoes are too small and have tight straps (because I'm a woman). I wear women's US size 9 / 40 euros. I chose the men's version as they tend to be wider and perhaps compensate for the size and narrow straps. I ordered men's size up to 8 and they fit perfectly in width and length; However, the right strap was perfect and the left one was very small. This confirmed the statements made by the QS experts on the belts. I ordered two more pairs (three total) to see if I could get some luck with the straps. Guess what! I left the best matching left and right and brought back the unwanted pairs. Achievement: I've done some easy hikes and loved them! My favorite sandals were Chaco's Mega Z Cloud and Teva Hurricane XLT2; but the feel and grip with them have replaced these. Please note that if you wear socks that are thicker than regular socks, they will not work for you as the straps are not wide enough and you cannot easily put them on and take them off due to the fabric. I can't say anything about longevity yet. I can tell you that after a few hikes the insole softens a bit which makes it flexible and also adapts to the shape of your feet. I'm middle-aged, heavier in weight, have high metatarsals + arches so support is important; I didn't feel any pain doing it. I'm deducting a star for quality issues and the effort consumers have to go through to find a decent fit. Much luck!
