I bought these for my 9 year old boy and 7 year old girl and they both love them. These mice are small and suitable for children's hands. They shine quite brightly which the kids loved, but be aware that if left plugged in they will be too bright at night, say in a dark bedroom. As far as I know, it is not possible to disable this ad. The only thing to note if you haven't thought about it is that it's USB Type A (the old type) and many newer laptops are USB C only. There are plenty of cheap adapters out there, of course, but it's likely annoying you are not ready.
