Ordered for 94 years. old mother and she likes it because she was sitting in the dimly lit living room and now she can read. It doesn't give off much light due to the included low power LED bulb, so I used a 100w daylight fluorescent bulb. They are brighter, but these lamps are more of a soft accent than a main light source because they are small and have a very small diameter lampshade. When placed on a side table, they're not high enough to cover a bare lightbulb when you walk by, and they'll blind you if you don't look away!
