Review on πŸ“ Digital Height Gauge by Wixey WR25 by Dustin Keller

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This has been improved.

When the 2032 coin cell battery in my old Wixey bar died, I was unable to find a replacement battery well and was unable to save the instructions (the battery well is directly above the "Wixey"). TM" on the front of the instrument). Thinking it might be in there somewhere, I opened the case only to find a place for the tray, which is inaccessible with the case open. I rotated the ruler during assembly unknowingly turned it upside down and saw the device was on but with readings that made no sense. Thinking I had killed it I ordered a new one. When this one arrived I noticed the correct orientation of the ruler and took it apart again (!) the old altimeter this time with the ruler in the right direction the old altimeter now works correctly the old one now had this feature or bug and there were dashes on the screen 7, 4 in 9 etc. While this was annoying it was tolerable as I knew what the correct reading should be, luckily the new altimeter doesn't have that defect so I'm glad I bought it although de r old still works properly. Now I have a backup just in case. If you're using a handheld router, that's the best sensor. For a router table or table saw, the iGaging Snap Check Woodworking Height Gauge (available here) is your best bet. The iGaging probe is not suitable for a portable router because its tip-to-base radius is too large to be held stably on the router's base, so you cannot get accurate readings. Therefore it makes sense to have both pressure gauges in your tool trolley.
