Great for travel and everyday use

I bought this Charmore bag in Black/Large. I’ve had it since October 2019 and feel I can give a fairly accurate review. I was looking for a backpack I can use for my everyday commute, one that has a hidden back compartment so my belongings aren’t easily accessible to thieves. Function is what’s important to me, but I also wanted it to look chic. I asked more fashionable friends and they all liked the black color best.I had bought these bags in Gray/Large, Brown&Black/Large, Khaki/Medium, Brown/Medium to compare. I included photos of them. Although the photos online make them look structured, they are not. The material is a thin nylon similar to that of Longchamp bags, and the colored straps are somewhat metallic and woven like a seat belt. The seat belt look is less apparent in the Black bag. Something to note, the zipper direction for the front pocket is different depending on the bag, no guarantee which you’ll get. Before Covid-19, I was using this bag almost everyday during my commute. I even used it twice for travel. It’s roomy enough to fit everything I need and more. I have used it in rain and snow, and all of my contents stayed dry. That being said, I don’t know if it’s completely waterproof because it wasn’t a heavy downpour. Below are my comments on each pocket and what I use it for. The names in quotes are what the company named the pockets, as shown in one of the product photos.Front zipper pocketSmall, frequently-used non-valuables like lip balm and gum.Side pocketsOne for my water bottle/umbrella and another for trash until I can find a trash receptacle/ (receipts, food packaging, napkins, etc)."Document pocket” (far back pocket inside main compartment)This is where I put feminine products and tissues."Keys/Glasses pocket” (pockets in front of far back pocket)This isn’t a good pocket for keys. It’s deep and narrow, making it difficult to easily access a set of keys. I put my sunglasses and pens in here. Anything long and thin works, but smaller items might get stuck at the bottom of the pocket and thicker items just won’t fit."Phone” pocketI sometimes put my phone here, but lately I’ve been keeping my face mask in here for easy access. I also keep bandaids and spare hair ties here. When at the airport going through TSA, I’ve put my passport and phone in here for quick access."Zipper pocket”This is where I store valuables like my keys and wallet. I put these here because they are less likely to get stolen in case someone decides to slash my bag. I always keep it zipped, so in case my bag is open, my important belongings won’t fall out.Main compartmentEverything else. I keep my phone here when the risk of my bag being slashed from the bottom is low. It also fits my portable phone tripod. I’ve put my 13.3” laptop (about 13” x 9” x 1”) in here, and it works but is a bit of a squeeze. In the fall and spring, I keep a light shawl in here.Likes:- anti-theft main compartment- has many pockets- water resistant nylon- black looks chic- good priceDislikes:- the straps look like seatbelts (not noticeable on black)Summary: Highly recommended for anyone looking for a cute commuter/travel bag that keeps your belongings secure. That said, just know they don’t exactly look like how they do online.
