I have an older version of this trimmer (Panasonic ER-GN30) from 2014. The trimmer has served me well for many years but lately it seems really bad to be. Even with fresh batteries it sounded like the trimmer was out of batteries and the RPM was low. He still cut his hair, but that trimmer's days seemed numbered. A new trimmer of the same model was only $20, but recent reviews seemed to indicate that the build quality of the new trimmers didn't match the old one, and they quickly broke even after moderate use. This replacement blade costs $12, so you might think paying just $20 for a new trimmer would be wiser. However after reading all the negative reviews about the new trimmers I decided to take a chance and buy a new blade instead so my trimmer doesn't end up in a landfill and hopefully avoid problems with newer models. I put a new blade on the trimmer. and it looked like a new trimmer. Instead of being sluggish, slow and noisy, the new blade spins at high RPM and is very quiet. This definitely solved the issues I had with the old blade and now the trimmer works like new. I hope it lasts as long as the original knife.
