Review on Gola Shingle Outdoor Trekking Sandals: Durable Men's Shoes for Adventures by Daniel Casper

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Claimed a 2000 mountain in them

Shoes are quite decent for this price. However, I found that the size of the real problem. I didn't realize until I started reading reviews (before purchasing) that golas are notoriously "small". I've had a UK 11 or 11.5 for about 50 years so I ordered a UK 12. When they arrived they were a bit tight even without socks but I decided to keep them. Maybe this is the wrong decision as they are hardly acceptable (and unlikely to become favourites) and now it's too late. Would it be better if I exchanged it for a UK 13 - I've never bought a 13 in my life? Possible, although 13 sounds quite a lot. That's enough to stop buying mail-order shoes and golas in particular. It turns out that there are now four systems of shoe sizes. UK, US, EU and Gola.

Pros
  • In this sand we managed to climb and descend Mount Chekhlau. I was impressed with their durability and grip
Cons
  • The outsole material separates easily from the upper.
