It's a shame that this radio remote control didn't get 5 stars! Remote is great in many ways, but unfortunately it has a very big Achilles heel! The threaded locking ring that was meant to screw into the D500's 10-pin remote does not screw into the 10-pin socket as intended, and the plug can't always be pushed far enough to make the connection, so it works intermittently . . When it works right, it works great. The threaded ring on the receiver in my example only fits about 1/4 turn of the thread into the socket thread. Conversely, the Nikon WR-10A, which I have for my D800 rotates at least 3 full turns and fixes this remote precisely. I know what I'm talking about. I have worked as a broadcast technician/video journalist for 13 years, operating and maintaining remote controlled microwave and satellite trucks. This is not rocket science! Precise connector design is a challenge, but quality control could and should be much better here! There are many reviews mentioning this issue, just search "threads".
