MIFA Wireless heat-loving baby - my review

What is Mifa, a few words for those who have never heard anything about this brand. This is a real Chinese manufacturer of pretty good wireless audio equipment. They are not scattered in dozens of directions and do not try to climb into the big leagues, they have occupied their niche and produce pretty decent audio devices while not really pressing on the price, in the manufacturer's line of TWS headsets, soundbars, Bluetooth speakers (protected and regular). The manufacturer's mega hit is the Bluetooth speaker - Mifa A10 and its newer and more powerful version - A10 +. The thing is definitely worthwhile and deserving attention, because in terms of price / quality / functionality it has few competitors in its class. Mifa's competitors are QCY, Haylou (Xiaomi), BlitzWolf. The price segment is in the range of $20-$30. I had a lot of TWS headsets, I buy often and then as I like it, some leave after the first listening, some live for a month or two. Of the constants that I already consider long-livers, I listen at home, these are Xiaomi Mi Air True Wireless Earphones and Apple AirPods 2. I hold them as a standard of quality and for comparison. But for the road and the street I always buy something new and not very expensive. I am not an ardent music lover, for this, in addition to good headphones, you also need a decent technique capable of reproducing and transmitting it, and this is very expensive and the lot of fans. My path is audiobooks, which I listen to all the time and everywhere, and for such content, Hi Res technology is not needed. Of course, it’s not particularly correct to compare headphones worth $20 and $200, but that’s what the leaders are for, so that the rest catch up and not just copy the appearance. Sales of new items - Mifa X19 started right after the New Year and the headset was announced by the manufacturer as one of the smallest and most compact on the market. I bought, as usual, a pig in a poke, because for this model, apart from the manufacturer's advertising posters, there were no text or video reviews. Mifa's packaging for absolutely the entire range of products is identical - a black box made of thick cardboard with a huge inscription "just Enjoy", like just enjoy our equipment. What is directly inside can only be found by turning the box over to the back where there is a sticker with the device parameters. For the packaging, it’s definitely 5+, since it’s simply unrealistic to damage what’s inside (unless, of course, you intentionally do it) the two halves of the box entering each other create a monolithic cocoon. Also, ears in such a shell are not ashamed to give, this is not a faceless squalor made of thin paper, with muddy drawings, which creases and bends at the slightest touch. The charging box is wrapped in a bag for safety and fixed in a plastic trough in the center. Even with a side impact and crushing of the box, he definitely will not suffer. The kit contains everything you need, nothing more is needed. We have our own ears in a charging case, USB-Type C charging cable, three pairs of silicone pads, setup instructions (no Russian language) The charging box is really the smallest, at least compared to the models that I had. An egg for scale. Three pairs of silicone pads of different external diameters for individual selection. Pretty high quality, two-layer, do not crumple and bend at the slightest touch. They sit on the "proboscis" of the emitter very tightly and do not remain in the ear when the earpiece is pulled out sharply (QCY disease). The cable is of excellent quality, rather short, the charging port of the format is Type C. The book (namely, a book and not a paper accordion) is intelligible in printing, the information can be read even without a microscope. There is no Russian language, but from the pictures you can understand what and where, especially since there are no confusing settings, except to read about management. The lid of the box does not have a lock in the open position. If the box is level, then it does not close, but if you tilt it forward a little, the lid will slam shut with a delicious click and will not open even if you turn the box upside down. Headphones sit dead in their sockets, even with a bust. Given their aerodynamic, rounded shape, getting them out of the box is still a challenge. There is nothing to grab your fingers for, and the magnets holding them in place are very powerful. Here the manufacturer clearly overdid it. It’s good, of course, that they sit tight and don’t fall out with an accidental push, there are even some notches in charging pad under the fingers, on the side, but they are so small that you can pick up the case except with a fingernail, which I don’t have. Perhaps for someone a trifle, but scratching them several times a day from the den is inconvenient, although this is possible only for my thumbs. But they jump into the seats with lightning speed, you just have to bring them to the recesses and powerful magnets just grab them from your fingers. The case has a built-in battery with a capacity of 250 mAh, there is no desire to check the compliance of the capacity, tired, let's take the word of the manufacturer. Type C charging socket on the back. Blue indicator on the front panel. It lights up when the case is charging and goes out when fully charged. The box is made of matte plastic and does not collect all the prints. Assembled well, of course, fixing the lid in the open position would not hurt. To compare box sizes with Xiaomi. In all the latest models of such equipment, the charging contacts began to be sealed with transparent tape so that there was no discharge and direct contact on the road (and delivery can take a month or more). At first it was just pieces of transparent adhesive tape, but then, having received mountains of curses and open disputes about defective ears that are not charged, manufacturers began to make these films noticeable, different in color from the case. Some buyers simply did not see these blotches and unsuccessfully tried to charge dead headphones, and they naturally did not want to charge. Here, such a sticker in the form of a tennis racket, blue, immediately catches the eye. Emitter housings made of matte plastic, only the front panel is glossy because it is nothing more than a touch touch pad for control. Oddly enough, this surface does not collect prints either, they are, but they are not particularly striking and are easily erased. The headphones are marked L and R, but due to the anatomical shape, it will not work to confuse them when installed in the ear, they simply will not fit "out of place". Each earphone has a separate radio module and they can work separately from each other with different devices in mono mode or paired as stereo. The convenience of this solution is that you do not need to follow the sequence - first remove the master, wait until it connects, then remove the slave and wait for pairing again. We also get two Bluetooth headsets that can be used to talk on the phone. The microphone is built into the bottom of the case. I will talk about his work below. Both emitters have their own batteries with a capacity of 40 mAh each. When installed in a case, a green indicator lights up above the touch panel. It lights up while charging is in progress and goes out when it is finished. More these indicators do not detect their presence in any way, they do not blink in the ear during operation. Perhaps they turn red when the charge level drops to a critically low value, but I was not able to discharge them to such a threshold. When connecting for the first time, we take them out of the case and confirm the pairing on the smartphone. All. The next time you use it, just pull it out and they cling to the smart instantly. Female voice, in English, voices - turning on, connecting, losing connection. Management is convenient but there are nuances associated with the outside temperature. How to control music without using a smartphone. - One short touch on the left or right touch pad starts playback or (if it is running) pauses it. - Touching and holding your finger on the panel for more than 1 second switches tracks - on the right one track forward, on the left one track back. - And finally, the most pleasant thing that I missed so much on other models - volume control. Two short touches on the right earpiece increase the volume by one step, on the left it decreases. As for me, it would be more logical to switch tracks with two touches and adjust the volume by holding your finger on the pad - while you hold it rises or falls, released, fixed. But the engineers probably have their own reasons to do just that. To restart the connection, simply install them in the case and remove them. To reset the settings of the headphones themselves, you need to hold both sensors at the same time for 8 seconds. With the correct installation of the earphone, it fits perfectly into the auricle, sits like a glove, only the touch panel looks out. Touch control works throughout the site, no need to crawl around the panel looking for a trigger point. But all this splendor is limited by the temperature of the outside air. I was just, if I may say so, lucky to test them on the street at plus and minus temperatures, because "winter" allowed it. At room temperature, everything works perfectly, but on the street it is up to a maximum of +5. With a decrease in temperature, the sensor begins to blunt. For example, I pressed a pause and it didn’t work, you press it again, but literally a split second before pressing it again, it braked and transmitted a signal, playback stopped, and I already pressed it a second time and playback started again. Annoys. At air temperatures below 0, the sensor refuses to work at all, it has been checked. Here, the mechanical control keys make the touch clean. It was I who described his work if you do not wear some kind of hat with earflaps. I am indifferent to frosts and I move about tolerably in a gray cap like Sharapov's. And it becomes almost impossible to use the controls, either get a smart phone or do it with Mi Banda, which also allows you to do it. To answer an incoming call, you need to quickly touch any earphone, to reset, hold the touch for 1 second. Three short presses call up the voice assistant. I don't know how this feature works, I haven't tried it. In terms of the quality of the conversation, everything is standard, again considering that the microphone is located almost in the ear. I hear everything perfectly, but in order to be heard normally, I need to speak loudly, depending on the environment. In a crowded place, there is no desire for everyone around to hear your conversation, so you can fold your palm like a boat so that your voice is "broadcast" immediately into the ear microphone or simply remove one earpiece from your ear and bring it to your mouth with a microphone. In the apartment, in silence, you can not particularly raise your voice, the counterpart does not ask you to repeat something, you can hear it normally. The manufacturer claims support for SBC and AAC audio codecs. On my Chloomi Note 8 pro, I managed to connect for some reason only through SBC. In the Bluetooth properties, when the ears are connected, the battery level is displayed. One for both ears. If you connect them one by one, then the display is individual. Sound. Here, of course, everything depends on individual perception, but of all devices similar in price and class (which I had or listened to), this model is definitely the best. Perhaps this is the merit of the 6.1 mm drivers or the processor, but for me it is. Even with complete attachments and without touching the equalizer, you can get quite a decent sound at all frequencies. If you replace the tips with thicker ones and with a larger sound duct diameter, adjust the equalizer to the type of music, then the result will be even better. On the manufacturer's website there is a mention of the active noise cancellation function, but how to enable this function is not indicated. Perhaps the description was mistakenly transferred from another model, usually such a chip requires software activation, through the application or just with a button. Bluetooth version 5.0, beats decently, covers a 3-room apartment freely, there are no disappearances and stuttering even through 2 walls. On the street, there are dumps and stutters in motion, if the smart is, for example, in a bag or bottom pocket and sharply turn your head to the side. This happens with almost all budget models, I know from my own experience and there is no way to fix it. The disadvantages, like the whole class of such equipment, are charging only from the original case, and in case of breakage or loss, this becomes a problem. You need to constantly carry a case with you to store headphones there, and if you don’t install them there, but just put them somewhere, they will be active until they turn off automatically. Also, a constant recharging of the headphones, no matter how much you listened to them before - an hour or 2 minutes. On the one hand, this is good - you always know that they are fully charged and ready for use, but on the other hand, constant partial recharging does not really prolong the life of the built-in batteries. The capacity of each of the built-in batteries is 40 mAh, which is enough to listen to music for 4-5 hours. For books, a volume level of 50-70% is quite enough for me, because they yell with dignity and do not choke at the maximum. I listen every day, the road to and from work is about 2 hours, plus a run through the shops on the way. Total three hours a day they strum for sure. Case for 250 mAh. That is, it lasts for three full charges. One full charge of the headphones and a full charge of the box is enough for me for a week. What is the end result... Liked... - really miniature charging box, fits in any pocket and bag - high-quality sound even at standard settings - autonomy - charge indicators on the box and headphones - touch control of all playback functions, including sound - ergonomic design and excellent sound isolation - powerful magnets in the case - nice and secure packaging - instant connection to the device - AAC codec (?) - large touch pad - Type C charging port I find fault... - sensor dulls at low outside temperature - it is inconvenient to remove the headphones from the charging box (maybe this is just for me) - cover without fixation in the open position Such is the novelty from Mifa. In general, the manufacturer did not deceive - in terms of dimensions, they are really one of the smallest models on the market in their price segment and class, they have high-quality sound and distinct autonomy. I liked them more than their counterparts costing up to $30 from Haylou, Xiaomi, QCY, etc. This headset is already in the past for me, a new model came to me, from a brand previously unknown to me, which has (as stated) the function of activating the game mode, which will reduce the delay of sound in games. While I'm looking at them and maybe write a review if they're worth it.
