You won't be disappointed with the strength of the magnet - it sticks to metal very firmly. I planned to use the magnet on a small plastic container that was taken off and put back on a piece of metal quite often. The sticky backing of the magnet wouldn't hold it because the magnet is so strong it would rip it off instantly. I even tried removing all the sticky backing and using a very strong industrial grade glue to attach the back of the magnet to the plastic container but the same thing happened when removing the container - the glue didn't hold the magnet. I think that says a lot about the power of a magnet. However, if you're looking for a strong magnet that will hold something in place permanently without having to remove and re-insert it frequently, this is likely to serve you very well.
