I have had seawater tanks since the early 1990's. I've tried all kinds of lighting systems. The good thing about these new LED systems is that everything you need is built into them. My previous one was a grid of strips that I stitched together to get the spectra I needed. With this lighting system, everything is on one panel. The panels are light but large because each one unfolds, so I'm only using one at the moment. The lights are a coral hue, more of a bluish purple which I prefer. However, mine is set to sunrise and sunset because now I can make everything look more natural. They are bright and you can lower the intensity. have a special setting for night lighting and turn on only a few LEDs. Another reviewer also mentioned this and they are right, too bright for 00:00. Timers can be set in all sorts of ways, and you can set them up for just about any combination. I just wish I had that extra low moonlight feature option. The remote control has an LCD screen to help you set the parameters. it's a bit busy with functions and buttons. The view is similar to an old iPod, but it's not that difficult to plan and use. They're great because they don't use a lot of electricity, and they come with all the hardware needed to hang lights. You might be able to set them up so they rest on the edges of the tank, but you'll have to be a little tricky to get them to stay in place. If I'm moving in the near future I won't have the same space to hang my lights so I'll have to figure that out too. My two things I would like is that the 10% moonlight setting is still too bright and I would like a lower option and a tank mount option in addition to the wire suspension.
