Review on ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Dell S2721D: Ultra Thin DisplayPort Certified QHD2560X1440P Monitor with 75Hz Refresh Rate, Built-In Speakers, and HD Clarity by Selwyn Wooner

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Faulty power cord does not fit. I had to replace it, then the monitor worked fine.

This 27-inch Dell 1440p QHD IPS ultra-narrow bezel monitor offers premium quality, beautiful and vivid images with crisp images and vivid colors. It's been such a relief for my eyes over the past few days as I've been trying to get my kids through distance learning and also for my writing purposes as I try to use my laptop for everything all the time. I literally spend 10-12 or more hours a day on some type of computer. The 27 inch monitor is great for my desktop and it's pretty easy to work with on almost any device. However, a problem immediately arose during installation. The included power cord did NOT fit properly and only went halfway, making the connection weak and unreliable (or where it just didn't work, period). I was concerned that the monitor components themselves were the problem, but it was a real cable - It literally doesn't fit (only comes in half or 1/3 inches) and isn't designed for this model, period. Luckily I had another power cord to replace it with and then the monitor worked fine - much to my relief. For those buying this, they may need to buy a matching one for this to work at all (if their power cord was anything like mine). I've been observing it for the last few days and now use it a lot with no problems - so it definitely seems to be a 100% defective power cord. I wonder if previous reviewers have had the same issue to some extent - perhaps the power cord is a very flawed design that just doesn't work or doesn't match this monitor. Obviously someone needs to look at this and replace the faulty power cords ASAP if what I've been experiencing is the norm. If I didn't like the monitor that much (it's really a great quality apart from the issue with the power cord) I would deduct more stars just for that. I hope this was an isolated issue, but if you find that the monitor isn't working properly, first check to see if the power cord needs to be replaced. Something is wrong here. Apart from this (actually very big) problem, the monitor itself is fine. It was very easy to mount on the included base and despite its size it's not overly heavy and you can tilt the screen to your liking. I like its speakers, but I wouldn't prefer, say, my Bose speaker, but for streaming regular stuff or listening to music or podcasts that don't require a lot of bass or treble it's more than enough. I can get the audio to play decently loud without too much distortion. YMMV is located here, depending on what you want from your monitor/speaker system. All in all, if the monitor had any other downsides, this review would certainly not be a 4 star product. If the power cord hadn't been incompatible/defective, I would have easily gotten 5 stars. Again - YMMV.
