I like this lock set. It's attractive. That is hard. It works fine (once you install it), but there are issues that some Baldwin customers cannot easily fix. I installed many similar locks at the entrance. Everything was easy to install. Apart from this. My initial problem was how to open the outside lever from right to left. I called support and one of the support reps seemed completely lost. A second support person sent me a video of the lever being changed from right to left. The video instructions didn't exactly match what the tech support representative told me - the video showed the cartridge rotated 180 degrees. I didn't do this, but maybe I should have - the smart key hole is under the cylinder, not the top. There's another problem - the lock won't engage when I have a hasp (metal trim around the door frame). that the shaft retracts and the door locks). This did not help even with a hasp from another lock. This only worked when the shock plate was not used. This makes the door less secure - it's easier to knock it out when the only thing holding the lock in the door frame is a small strip of wood - if I had a hasp screwed on with long screws it would be more secure. .I hope to solve this problem soon. A deadbolt over this lever gives me a better sense of security, but if you're only installing this lever with a key, your lock probably won't work with a hasp. All in all it's a good lock, but if the strike plate problem isn't just me, it might be a problem for you too. Update: I have sent an image and details of the issue to Baldwin. Two days later the problem is described as the latch does not go into the latch (the part the hasp surrounds) and a new lock is sent to me. I HOPE this resolves the situation, but I'm impressed with Baldwin's support and willingness to try and resolve this issue.
