What's not to like? For what it is, it's amazing (especially considering something like this was worth it just a few years ago). It's small, easy to connect, and works well. Gives a fairly accurate measurement. As with most of these components, the code you use is everything. If you take the time to set it up properly, it will return data that can be used for magical things. A second unit is acquired to hack the 3D scanning lidar to create a point cloud on the Pixhawk rover (ex-military Markbot IV). Interesting things on the horizon! For $20, it's horrible how useful they can actually be.
