I really wanted a cute colored toaster. My search turned out to be more difficult than I thought - they were either beautifully colored but otherwise ugly, well over $100, or had an alarming number of reviews mentioning fire, smoke, melting, etc. that they simply not roasted well. or were fine. temporary but stopped working. It was the only one I found that might not have had these fatal bugs. I took a chance because of the price and I'm so happy! It's as cute as the pictures, doesn't look cheap, makes a great toast and hasn't exploded or melted yet. Note that the first few times you use it, it smells a bit burnt. He recommends running it without toast first. I opened all the doors etc before doing this but it wasn't that bad at all, quite a bit less than I expected. Also note that the more you use it, the more evenly it will brown. It may take several uses to really get into the rhythm. Can't speak to durability, I've had about a month and a half at the time of writing this review, but I'll update for sure if it works. That. If there are no updates, let's assume my sweet little blue bread is still going strong. The only thing I'd like to see is the ability to ONLY use the defrost function without continuing to toast so I can defrost the bread to use without having to use the microwave or be patient, but I'm me not sure if this is true for every toaster. lol. If in doubt, I would definitely dare!
